Juliette VicentePhD Student
Biography
Juliette Vicente has completed a MSc in Geophysics at Université de Paris (France) and moved to New Zealand to pursue a PhD in Volcanology.
Project role
Supported by the Raranga Whāriki Papa Moana | Beneath the Waves programme, Juliette Vicente is undertaking a PhD in Volcanic Hazard Simulation at Massey University. Her research combines numerical modelling, rock mechanics and quantitative analysis to investigate volcanic debris avalanches from pre-failure to emplacement. By analysing failure conditions and their effects on flow dynamics (e.g. runout distances, velocities and inundation depths), she aims to improve volcanic hazard assessment.
