Stuart MeadEarth Scientist
Biography
Stuart’s research uses numerical modelling and computational techniques to simulate and predict the impact of extreme flow events, such as dam breaks, flash floods, debris flows and landslides. He combines engineering, rock mechanics, computational mathematics and statistics approaches to quantify volcanic hazards and physical vulnerability to these hazards.
Project role
In the ‘Beneath the Waves’ research programme, Stuart is simulating on-land and submarine rock mass failures and their tsunamigenic potential.
